  Answers
BBCi brings you the latest in news, weather and sport from radio, TV and online BBC services. Breaking news and updated audio and video bulletins keep you informed throughout the day.

To go straight to the BBC broadband service without seeing an interim screen you need to enable cookies on your PC. Windows users should choose Internet Options in Control Panel. Select Security, then Custom Level. Scroll down and click on Enable Cookies.

The BBCi Broadband service provides enhanced audio and video features. It is only available to users accessing the internet via a UK broadband service provider such as fairBroadband, which has an agreement with BBCI. The same news stories are accessible with any internet connection from the main BBCi site, but without the enhanced audio and video features.

You may need the free RealPlayer plug-in. If so, you should receive an automatic prompt asking you to upgrade. Should you still be unable to access video or audio services, please go to RealPLayer Support on the RealNetworks site.

Check your RealPlayer settings. Your preferences may be set to use low bandwidth only, which could be affecting the performance of your audio or video. Change these settings by going to your RealPlayer and choosing View/Preferences/Connection. Go to the bandwidth area and change from normal bandwidth to 512k.
The maximum bandwidth can be set the same or higher.

Check that you have signed up to our broadband service.
If you are only signed up for our dial-up service, you will not be able to access the BBCi broadband site.

The service is accessible to users with the following:
· Netscape 4.7 and higher and Internet Explorer 5 and higher
· Windows 95/98/NT4/ME/2000/XP and Macintosh OS8/9/X
· You will also need the browser plugin for RealPlayer8 or higher.
This can be downloaded free from this site.

For further information on systems requirements, please go to the RealNetworks site. Please note that the service does not currently support the Windows Media Player format.
